On July 11, 2025, Mercedes-Benz officially announced that the first strategic model developed based on the new MB.EA pure electric platform, the pure electric GLC SUV, will be launched globally at the Munich International Motor Show (IAA) in Germany on September 7. This luxury mid-size SUV, internally codenamed "V295", will completely abandon the "oil-to-electric" route, with 800V high-voltage architecture, laser radar and MB.OS intelligent system as core selling points, facing competitors such as BMW iX3 and Audi Q6 e-tron.

1. Platform and three-electric system

800V high-voltage platform

The new car adopts Mercedes-Benz's third-generation high-voltage architecture, supports 320kW supercharging power, and can replenish 260 kilometers of endurance under the WLTP standard in 10 minutes. The battery pack capacity reaches 100kWh, and the WLTP operating range exceeds 750 kilometers, which is nearly 50% higher than the current EQC.

eATS 2.0 electric drive system

Provides rear-wheel drive single motor (272 horsepower) and dual-motor four-wheel drive (489 horsepower) versions. The AMG high-performance version pushes the horsepower to 608 horsepower, and the zero-to-hundred acceleration enters the 4-second club. Innovatively equipped with a two-speed gearbox, taking into account low-speed torque and high-speed energy consumption performance.

2. Intelligent technology configuration

MB.OS intelligent hub

Equipped with Qualcomm 8295 chip and Mercedes-Benz self-developed operating system, it supports 5G communication and regional voice wake-up. 12.3-inch digital instrument + 11.9-inch central control screen constitutes the interactive core, and MBUX Hyperscreen is optional.

Intelligent driving hardware

The whole series is equipped with 128-line laser radar + 200TOPS computing power platform as standard, supporting high-speed NOA and city memory parking. 28 sensors (including 12 cameras + 5 millimeter-wave radars) throughout the vehicle achieve 360° perception.

3. Space and design

Size optimization

The wheelbase is 7.87cm longer than the fuel version to 2977mm, and the rear legroom is 910mm. The trunk volume is 1738 liters (seats folded down), and a new 127-liter front trunk is added.

Design language

The closed front face is equipped with a luminous star logo, and the drag coefficient is 0.25Cd. The through-type taillights are integrated with the same dynamic welcome light effect as Maybach, and the 20-inch AMG wheels have dynamic light and shadow.

Cabin luxury

Dinamica recycled suede seats + meteorite fragment trim, 64-color ambient lights and Berlin 4D audio linkage, 4 sky channels to achieve immersive audio-visual experience.

4. Market layout and localization process

The new car will be produced by Beijing Benz at the same time, and is expected to be delivered in early 2026, with a starting price of about 400,000 yuan. Compared with the current EQC, its platform advancement, endurance and intelligent configuration have all achieved a generational leap, and is regarded as a key move in Mercedes-Benz's electrification transformation.
