On May 30, NIO Auto announced that the first version of "NIO World Model NWM" was officially launched, covering more than 400,000 Banyan models in the first batch, and Cedar models (including ET9, new ES6, etc.) will be pushed at the end of June. This upgrade focuses on the field of active safety and launches three industry-first functions, marking the leapfrog evolution of intelligent driving from "freeing hands" to "protecting life".
1. Emergency autonomous pull-over parking
The industry's first mass-produced function. When the system detects that the driver is unconscious, it will wake up through a progressive alarm. If it is ineffective, it will automatically turn on the double flash, slow down to below 60km/h, and autonomously change lanes to the rightmost emergency parking lane under the premise of ensuring safety;
The perception-decision-execution closed loop is completed within 500ms throughout the process, and a triple redundant system is equipped to ensure that the lane can still be stopped in the lane when the lane change fails;
2. Rear-end collision prevention and protection RCM
0-150km/h full speed range coverage, automatically activate the double flash warning when predicting the risk of collision with the rear vehicle;
When a collision is inevitable, it can be stopped within 500ms Complete the brake pressure building within the vehicle, reducing the passive forward movement distance by 93%;
3. General obstacle warning GOA
The recognition range is extended to low obstacles such as lifting poles and curbs, effectively preventing parking lot scratches;
The lateral detection accuracy is improved by 40%, and the warning response time of the blind spot of the turn is shortened to 0.3 seconds;
360° beyond visual range parking: supports long-distance roaming parking across channels, and the parking space recognition range is increased by 4 times;
Semantic car search: realize cross-floor parking lot navigation through natural commands, without relying on preset maps;
Parking space collection: automatically memorize high-frequency parking spaces, and intelligently switch to adjacent spaces when occupied;
NIO emphasized that thanks to the pre-embedded hardware of the NT3.0 platform, the first batch of Banyan models in 2019 can still adapt to the latest functions. With the implementation of the NWM model, NIO has established the dual advantages of "functional innovation + full life cycle iteration" in the field of intelligent safety, laying the foundation for the compliance of L3 autonomous driving.
