On September 10, 2025, NIO officially announced that dynamic test drives of the all-new (2026 model) ES8 will begin in 152 cities across China, at over 500 stores and showrooms. As the flagship pure electric SUV built on the NT3.0 platform, the new car will be officially launched and deliveries will begin on September 20th at the NIO Day event at the Hangzhou Convention and Exhibition Center. Pre-sale prices for the vehicle range from RMB 416,800 to RMB 456,800, while battery leasing plans are priced from RMB 308,800 to RMB 348,800.
Dimensions and Space
Length, width, and height: 5280mm × 2010mm × 1800mm, with a wheelbase of 3130mm. This vehicle surpasses competitors in its class, such as the AITO M9 and Lixiang L9, becoming the largest pure electric SUV in the Chinese market.
Available in six-seat Executive Luxury and seven-seat configurations, the second-row seats feature power adjustment, heating, and ventilation. The entire vehicle features 120,000-stitch embroidery and select solid wood trim.
Power and Range
Equipped with a full-range 900V high-voltage architecture, the dual electric motors generate 520kW of peak power and 700N·m of torque, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 3.97 seconds.
A standard 102kWh 4C battery pack boasts a CLTC range of 635 kilometers and supports 600kW ultra-fast charging and battery swapping.
Safety Features
Equipped with 11 airbags and a 474L vehicle volume, the all-new ES8 also features an intelligent restraint system. The all-new ES8 has undergone 72 comprehensive crash tests and is equipped with 65 active and intelligent safety assistance features. Furthermore, it features an AR-HUD panoramic intelligent head-up display system and a full-scene intelligent light blanket that precisely adapts to lane changes.
The intelligent light blanket can follow S-curves, alert two-wheeled vehicles ahead, and even span two lanes.
The all-new ES8 is equipped with the NIO Shenxing Intelligent Chassis, featuring five-link independent front and rear suspensions, and standard dual-chamber air suspension with a maximum travel of 100mm plus CDC. Thanks to a 41° front steering angle and the automatically activated Intelligent Agile U-Turn function, the vehicle boasts a minimum turning radius of just 5.7m.
Intelligent Features
Equipped with 31 high-performance sensing hardware components (including three LiDARs), the ES8 debuts an Intelligent Wetland Mode to enhance driving stability on low-grip surfaces.
The interior features a Skyline screen, a floating central control panel, and an upgraded NOMI system with support for high-speed No-Accident (NOA) functionality.
The core hardware of the all-new ES8 is the in-house-developed Shenji NX9031 chip and the Qualcomm 8295 chip. The former is also the first next-generation intelligent driving chip to be delivered.
A new Intelligent Guard mode has been added, which automatically raises the suspension when it detects flooding and notifies the driver, allowing them to remotely steer the vehicle away. Once legally permitted, the vehicle will also be able to automatically navigate itself when encountering dangerous situations like floods and fires, without the need for remote control. Simply put, the new car is expected to be able to "autonomously avoid" itself from being caught in a fire or flood.
The new car debuts Nomi Intelligence, which features features like a service butler, security guard, and charging assistant.
