On November 10, 2026, SGMW announced a comprehensive refresh of the Wuling Hongguang family. The new model features an innovative "one car, three powertrains" layout, offering gasoline, pure electric, and range-extended hybrid options, further solidifying its leading position in the compact MPV market. This update covers multiple models including the Wuling Hongguang S, Wuling Hongguang PLUS, Wuling Hongguang range-extended version, and pure electric version. Currently, the family has accumulated over 6 million users and won first place in the compact MPV category in the 2025 China Gasoline Vehicle User Satisfaction Index.
The new model continues the family's simple and practical design style. The range-extended and pure electric versions are basically the same in appearance, with the main difference being the front design: the range-extended version has a cooling vent in the front grille, while the pure electric version uses a fully enclosed grille. The new model also features a prominent red brand logo. In terms of dimensions, the Wuling Hongguang extended-range version is identical to the pure electric version, measuring 4515/1725/1790 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2850 mm, positioning it as a multi-functional microvan. The vehicle offers both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations. The 5-seat version features flexibly foldable second-row seats, expanding the cargo space to a maximum of 3.3 cubic meters. The 7-seat version emphasizes versatility and efficient space utilization, with all three rows of seats foldable, providing a maximum loading space of 2.8 cubic meters.
The interior retains a simple and durable design, with standard features across the range including an 8-inch floating central control screen, a rotary gear selector, and a mechanical handbrake. Practical features include EPS electric power steering, LED headlights, dual airbags for the driver and front passenger, rear air conditioning vents, ABS anti-lock braking system, and EBD electronic brake-force distribution system. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a flat-bottomed steering wheel, manual air conditioning control system, fabric seats, and provides both USB and Type-C charging ports, fully meeting the diverse needs of daily business and family travel.
Gasoline Version: Equipped with a 1.15-liter naturally aspirated engine and a manual transmission, emphasizing economy and reliability, primarily targeting budget-conscious users who require long driving range.
Pure Electric Version: Utilizes a 75 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor with a peak torque of 180 Nm, equipped with a 32.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, achieving a CLTC range of 300 km. Its direct competitors include models such as the Changan Ruixing EM60 and Ruichi EC35.
Range Extender Version: A highlight of this update, it features a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter range extender and a rear-drive electric motor. The electric motor has a maximum power of 75 kW and a peak torque of 180 Nm, and is paired with an 8.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. This version of the CLTC boasts a pure electric range of 50 kilometers, a NEDC combined fuel consumption as low as 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers, and a combined range exceeding 1000 kilometers, officially defined as "the world's first 60,000-level extended-range rear-wheel-drive MPV." In terms of chassis, the new vehicle adopts a MacPherson independent front suspension and a leaf spring non-independent rear suspension structure, balancing load-bearing capacity and driving stability.
The Wuling Hongguang family has long been favored by small and medium-sized business owners, individual merchants, and families due to its high cost-effectiveness and practicality.
