With the release of the 15th batch of purchase tax exemption catalogs by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the electric vehicle market will usher in an explosive period in the summer of 2025. This month, a number of heavyweight smart electric models were launched, covering the mainstream price range of RMB 120,000-300,000, and intelligent configuration and endurance performance became the core competitive points.
FAW Toyota bZ5
Positioning: medium-sized pure electric coupe SUV, pre-sale price of RMB 130,000-160,000.

According to the latest catalog of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the above models all meet the conditions for electric vehicle purchase tax exemption. Plug-in hybrid models must meet technical requirements such as pure electric range ≥ 43km and energy consumption 40% lower than the limit. Pure electric models are graded according to curb weight and assessed for 100-kilometer power consumption.
The Hong Kong International Auto Expo will open on June 12, focusing on electric vehicles and intelligent driving technology, and is expected to become another important stage for the release of new cars.
Technical route differentiation intensifies
Supercharging and battery swapping game : 800V high-voltage platform models (such as Xpeng G7) are expected to account for 60% of newly launched models, and the battery swap model is affected by the increase in subsidies. The penetration rate of brands such as NIO in the B-end market may exceed 25%.
Hydrogen energy commercialization test: Toyota Mirai and other models have entered the rental market with a high subsidy of 50,000 yuan, but the insufficient coverage of hydrogen refueling stations still limits the scale, and monthly sales may remain at the level of thousands of vehicles.
Price war and profit dilemma coexist
Automotive companies’ strategies are differentiated: Zhiji and other brands have lowered the entry threshold through a "direct reduction + financial combination" (such as L6 down to 200,000), while Tesla may launch a new round of price adjustments in Q3 to clear inventory.
Delivery volume is under pressure: Xpeng and NIO Automobile fell by about 4% month-on-month in May, and they need to rely on new models (such as G7) to boost in June, but profit expectations still rely on technology cost reduction in the second half of the year.
