On August 3, 2025, Dongfeng AEOLUS officially launched its all-new pure electric compact SUV, the L7X, in three trim levels: Fashion Edition, Luxury Edition, and Cloud Wing Edition. The official suggested retail price ranges from RMB 186,900 to RMB 234,500. The new vehicle features a "mecha-inspired" design language, equipped with a 120kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, and offers two CLTC ranges of 440km and 530km. It's aimed squarely at mainstream joint venture competitors like the Volkswagen ID.4 CROZZ and Kia EV5.
The L7X features a closed front fascia with a three-dimensional hood with integrated LED headlights and daytime running lights. Hidden door handles and a multi-segment waistline enhance the vehicle's layered design. The rear features a through-type headlight cluster and a small ducktail spoiler. Measuring 4670×1900×1613mm with a wheelbase of 2775mm, it combines the agility of a compact SUV with exceptional spaciousness. The minimalist interior features a standard 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel. The central control screen is available in either a 9-inch (Fashion Edition) or a 10.4-inch (Top Edition) configuration. It also features a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and electronic shift paddles.
All models come standard with: a rearview camera, imitation leather sports seats, voice control, remote control, automatic air conditioning, and rear air vents.
Luxury Edition (217,600 RMB): Upgraded to 530km of range, aluminum alloy wheels, a four-speaker audio system, and in-car navigation.
Cloud Wing Edition (234,500 RMB): Adds a 10.4-inch central control screen, six speakers, cruise control, automatic parking, in-car fragrance, and ETC.
This differentiated configuration strategy precisely matches family commuting needs with a technologically advanced experience.
Powering the vehicle, the L7X is equipped with a single front-mounted electric motor, delivering 120 kW (163 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 km/h. The battery is available in two lithium iron phosphate configurations: 50.59 kWh and 61.24 kWh, giving it a range of 440 km (Fashion Edition) and 530 km (Luxury Edition/Cloud Wing Edition) under CLTC conditions. Fast charging allows a 30% to 80% charge in just 0.47 hours.
Competing with competitors such as the VW ID.4 CROZZ (RMB 149,900-243,600) and Kia EV5 (RMB 149,800-255,800), the L7X fills the price gap between domestic and joint venture brands with its mecha-like design, 530 km range, and intelligent features. Dongfeng AEOLUS offers a three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty on all models, further strengthening customer confidence.
