On August 4, 2025, GAC HYPTEC officially announced that nationwide deliveries of the HYPTEC HL extended-range model will begin on August 19th. Developed based on the pure electric architecture, the model starts at RMB 269,800, a RMB 30,000 reduction from the pure electric version. Its CLTC pure electric range reaches 350 kilometers, making it a new competitor in the large extended-range SUV market.
Equipped with a 1.5T range extender and a rear-mounted single electric motor, the motor boasts a maximum power of 250kW and is paired with a 60.33kWh ternary lithium battery pack. The total range has not yet been announced.
In pure electric mode, the CLTC offers a range of 350 kilometers, supports fast charging, and meets daily commuting needs. The extended-range mode eliminates long-distance range anxiety.
Length, width, and height are 5126×1990×1750mm, with a wheelbase of 3088mm, consistent with the pure electric version. It offers 5- and 6-seat configurations and is positioned as a large SUV.
Design Continuation and Feature Highlights
Continues the pure electric version's yacht-inspired styling, retaining the split headlights, recessed door handles, through-type taillights, and 20-inch wheels.
The closed front panel supports intelligent interactive lighting, and the range extender air intake is concealed.
Standard features include an 8.8-inch instrument cluster and a 17.3-inch central control screen, a hand-shift mechanism integrated into the three-spoke steering wheel, and a 50W wireless charging module integrated into the center console.
A segmented, non-opening panoramic sunroof (integrated on the pure electric version), heated steering wheel, and a heads-up display are standard across the range.
All seats are standard with ventilation, heating, and massage functions, and are equipped with air suspension, 360-degree panoramic imaging, and full-speed adaptive cruise control.
The HYPTEC HL Extended Range Edition directly competes with the Deep Blue S09 (RMB 239,900-309,900). Its advantages lie in its larger size and higher-spec comfort features. Consumers are primarily concerned with whether its 350km all-electric range can cover daily commutes and the fuel consumption of the extended range system.
