On August 8, 2025, Great Wall Motors will officially launch pre-sales for the new Tank 500, its luxury off-road SUV. As a mid-cycle facelift model, the new model retains the rugged DNA of the current model while focusing on upgraded intelligent driving systems and luxurious features. It also adds exclusive colors such as Dunhuang Green. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's 396th "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," this model has received certification for new energy vehicle and vessel tax exemptions, highlighting its energy-saving technology advantages.
Styling tweaks: The chrome trim on the front grille has been changed to a stacked design, inspired by ancient Chinese architecture; the brand logo has been flattened and features integrated millimeter-wave radar;
New colors: Dunhuang Green (inspired by the mineral pigments used in Dunhuang murals), Kunlun Gold, Pamir Silver, and Mount Everest White;
LiDAR Enhancement: A 128-line LiDAR module has been added to the roof, paired with 11 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, forming the hardware foundation of the Coffee Pilot Ultra intelligent driving system;
Intelligent Cockpit: 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, 14.6-inch central control screen, heads-up display, and Coffee OS. 3 systems, including infrared night vision.

Nappa leather seats throughout (ventilated/heated/massage);
17.3-inch 3K ceiling-mounted screen in the rear (six interactive modes);
50W dual wireless charging and hand-shift design free up center console space;

The pre-sale price of the new Tank 500 is expected to be the same as the current model starting at RMB 335,000. It will primarily compete with the Formula Leopard B8 (new energy vehicle market) and the Toyota Prado (traditional off-road vehicle market). With the Coffee Pilot Ultra system implementing full-scenario No-Analog Accessibility (NOA) functionality, the Tank 500 will become the first hardcore off-road vehicle equipped with advanced intelligent driving.
