On August 11, 2025, Dongfeng Forthing officially announced the start of pre-sales for the 2026 Xinghai V9 Yuexiang Series, with a starting price of RMB 199,900. The new car will be available on August 21st. As an annual facelift model, it continues the current 1.5T plug-in hybrid system, boasting a CLTC pure electric range of 200 kilometers and a combined range of 1,300 kilometers, further strengthening its competitiveness in the mid-to-large MPV market.
The new Dongfeng Forthing Xinghai V9 continues the design language of the current Qingyunti series, featuring a multi-banner grille, a floating roof, and chrome window trim. Power sliding doors and through-type LED taillights are standard across the entire range. Dimensions are 5230/1920/1820 mm (some models are 5251 mm long), with a wheelbase of 3018 mm. It offers a seven-seat layout. Like the 2024 model, it retains two front fascia styles: the Chinese Knot series (vertical waterfall grille) and the Qingyunti series (horizontal chrome), catering to both home and business needs.
Smart Cockpit: The Yuexiang series comes standard with dual 12.3-inch LCD instrument clusters and a central control screen (the high-end Qingyunti model offers an additional 12.3-inch passenger screen). The vehicle's system interaction may be optimized for smoother operation.
Comfort: The second-row seats feature ventilation, heating, and massage functions, and standard features include a 360-degree panoramic camera, a power tailgate, and adaptive high and low beam headlights.
Spacious and Flexible: The third row of seats stows into the floor, expanding the luggage compartment volume from 593L to 2792L.
Equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine (154 hp/230 Nm) and a single electric motor (204 hp/310 Nm), paired with an E-CVT transmission, it boasts a fuel consumption of 5.27L/100km when fully charged. It is equipped with a 34.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that supports fast charging (30%-80% charge in approximately 18 minutes) and a 3.3kW external discharge function.
Entering the market with a price range of RMB 199,900 to RMB 279,900, it offers a price advantage of approximately RMB 150,000 over competitors such as the Trumpchi E9. Furthermore, it boasts a combined range of 1,300km and L2+ driver assistance (including highway No Automatic Assistance). It appeals to both families and businesses. Data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) indicates that new energy MPV sales will account for 42% of all vehicles in 2025. The Xinghai V9 is expected to become a key model for Dongfeng Forthing in this market segment.
