On August 15, 2025, SKYWORTH Automotive officially launched the redesigned HT-i Fengchi Edition. The suggested retail price remains unchanged at RMB 216,800. The engine features a new 1.5T plug-in hybrid powertrain. This engine delivers a maximum power of 115 kW, coupled with a 160 kW electric motor and a dedicated 1-speed DHT transmission. The NEDC pure electric range has been increased to 200 km (with a battery capacity of 32.76 kWh). Compared to the previous 1.5L engine (81 kW + 130 kW electric motor), torque output and high-speed performance have been significantly improved.
The revamped SKYWORTH HT-i Fengchi Edition retains its borderless front grille design and features an L-shaped chrome trim on the front bumper. Its dimensions remain the standard mid-size SUV at 4720×1908×1701 mm, with a wheelbase of 2800 mm. The through-type taillights and HT-i logo enhance its distinctiveness. The rear seats fold down in a proportional manner, offering superior storage flexibility compared to competitors in its class.
The new car comes standard with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central control screen, along with the SKYLINK 4.0 system (supporting Level 2.9 driver assistance). However, actual tests revealed a 37% difference in cornering performance compared to the industry benchmark, and the optional AR-HUD has sparked controversy. Basic equipment includes cruise control, a rearview camera, and power-adjustable front seats with remote control, but lacks seat massage or fragrance systems, placing it behind competitors like the Zeekr 007.
Currently, the SKYWORTH HT-i faces price-performance competition from the BYD Song L DM-i (starting at RMB 135,800) and the Chery Fulwin T9 (starting at RMB 132,900). While it boasts a significant range advantage (205 km WLTC vs. 110 km for the BYD), the 80,000 yuan price difference will only be offset by energy savings over a 40-year lifespan. July sales data show that only 140 SKYWORTH HT-i units were sold, less than 1% of the BYD Song series' weekly sales.
According to the latest filing data, the vehicle has a curb weight of 1,980 kg, a combined fuel consumption of 1.2 liters per 100 km (5.8 liters when depleted), and a fast-charging capacity of 60 kW (charging from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes). Notably, the battery supplier has yet to be publicly announced, leading industry insiders to speculate that it may be sourced from a second-tier manufacturer.
