On August 29, 2025, Dongfeng AEOLUS officially launched its new strategic model, the Dongfeng AEOLUS L8 PHEV, at the Chengdu Auto Show. Positioned as a compact SUV, this plug-in hybrid vehicle is available in four trim levels with an official suggested retail price ranging from RMB 129,900 to RMB 149,900. The Dongfeng AEOLUS L8 PHEV features a closed front fascia with split headlights. The continuous light strip contrasts sharply with the concealed air intakes. The 19-inch multi-spoke wheels are shod with 235/50 R19 Michelin silent tires. Combined with its 4762mm length, it creates a sense of size that surpasses its class. The new car is available in six unique color schemes, including Cloud Silk White and Star Forged Blue, to meet the personalized needs of young families.

The Dongfeng AEOLUS L8 PHEV is equipped with a Mach powertrain consisting of a 1.5T turbocharged engine and a single electric motor, delivering a combined maximum power of 265kW and a torque of 615N·m. Its 4-speed DHT transmission is unique in its class, maintaining strong power reserves even at high-speed cruising.
Depending on the battery configuration (18.1kWh/30.3kWh), the new car offers a CLTC pure electric range of 112-185km, with a combined range exceeding 2000km. The official combined fuel consumption is as low as 2.4L/100km, and the WLTC fuel consumption when depleted is 5.29L/100km. The L8 PHEV supports 3C fast charging, charging from 20% to 80% in just 18 minutes. It also supports a 6.6kW external discharge function.
Entering the vehicle, the Dongfeng AEOLUS L8 PHEV features a wraparound cockpit design with many curved and rounded interior elements. The most striking feature is the combination of a 15.6-inch floating central control screen and an 8.88-inch full LCD instrument panel.
