On September 12, 2025, Xpeng Motors officially announced that the P7+ will feature a milestone upgrade to its intelligent assisted driving system. The speed limit for the NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) co-driving feature will be increased from 60km/h to 130km/h, enabling full coverage from urban roads to highways. This upgrade, which will be rolled out over-the-air (OTA), marks a technological breakthrough for Chinese brands in the field of intelligent driving.
Full-Speed Intelligent Driving
The new NGP exceeds the previous 60km/h limit and supports adaptive cruise control (ACC) in a wide speed range of 5-130km/h. Combined with the automatic obstacle avoidance function, which has a 22% increased success rate, it enables seamless transition between following vehicles in congestion and cruising at high speeds.
Utilizing a single-pixel Lofic architecture, it increases sensing distance by 125%, recognition speed by 40%, and response to complex road conditions more quickly.
AI Dimensity 5.4.0 System
The first launch of an end-to-end AI intelligent driving model, featuring human-like optimization of over 30 driving maneuvers, achieving near-human-level performance in scenarios like traffic light stop-start prediction and continuous lane changes.
The innovative VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model continuously learns and adapts to user driving habits, providing customized avoidance distances and cornering speeds.
Hardware and Safety Enhancements
The XNGP advanced intelligent driving system is standard across the entire range, eliminating the Max/Pro version distinction. Users enjoy full functionality upon purchase, with no subscription required.
A new AES (Automatic Emergency Avoidance) function for ice and snow handling can handle low-grip surfaces (0.2-0.4 adhesion coefficient) at speeds between 80-130 km/h, ensuring vehicle stability during evasive maneuvers, ensuring a "drink-proof" experience.
As Xpeng's flagship sedan, the 2025 P7+ features multiple upgrades:
Performance: The all-wheel drive version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, boasts a maximum CLTC range of 820 km, and can provide 525 km of range in 10 minutes with 800V 5C Supercharging.
Smart Cockpit: Featuring a 15.6-inch OLED central control screen and a Qualcomm 8295 chip, it supports four-zone voice interaction and boasts 98% dialect recognition accuracy.
Design: Featuring an interstellar green matte paint, an active rear spoiler, and an ultra-low 0.201Cd drag coefficient, the P7+ exudes a sense of technology and aerodynamic efficiency.
This upgrade makes the P7+ the first mass-produced model to achieve a Level 3+ experience with Level 2 hardware. Xpeng Motors stated that it will achieve Level 4 autonomous driving in select scenarios by 2026. For users, Full Intelligent Driving not only alleviates long-distance fatigue but also enhances driving safety through its humanized algorithms. Tests have shown that the system can autonomously complete 12 unprotected left turns during Shenzhen's evening rush hour.
In terms of pricing, the Ultra-Long Range Max Flagship Edition starts at 208,800 RMB. The "no subscription, no fee" approach to full intelligent driving functionality further lowers the barrier to entry.
