On September 16, 2025, Great Wall Motor (GWM) Haval officially launched the 2026 Haval Dargo PLUS, a mid-size SUV. Available in six configurations, including gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions, the new model has an official guide price of RMB 135,800 to RMB 183,800, with a limited-time pre-sale and trade-in price of RMB 112,800 to RMB 160,800. As a rebranded version of the second-generation Haval Dargo, this facelift focuses on "family and off-road" applications. Through upgrades to design, space, and intelligence, it strengthens its competitiveness in the RMB 110,000 to RMB 130,000 gasoline SUV market.
The new model maintains its boxy design language. The front fascia features a semi-enclosed smoked grille with an illuminated "HAVAL" logo. The round, retro headlights create a visual contrast with the armored, powerful aesthetic. The flanks feature exposed rivet fenders and raised fenders to enhance the car's muscular appearance. The wheelbase measures 2810mm (72mm longer than the previous model), and it's available in five exterior colors, including Golden Armor and Green Scale Armor. The "GWM" logo on the rear has been added to align with Great Wall Motor's brand strategy, but the taillight design has remained unchanged, sparking some controversy.
The light-colored interior and soft materials enhance a homey ambiance. All models come standard with a 14.6-inch floating screen and full LCD instrument cluster, equipped with Coffee OS 3, which supports dialect interaction with a 250ms wake-up time. A hand-shift gear shifter frees up center console space, and the high-end model features a heated steering wheel and ventilated/heated front seats. The rear seat has a flat floor and can accommodate three adults. Customer feedback suggests the trunk volume (specific figures not yet released) is slightly insufficient for camping.
Full-cycle version: 1.5T (135kW/275Nm) + 7-speed DCT, 2.0T (175kW/385Nm) + 9-speed DCT (optional all-wheel drive);
Plug-in Hybrid version: 1.5T Hi4 system (combined power of 220kW), equipped with 18.74kWh/27.54kWh battery packs, with a CLTC pure electric range of 105km/150km.
The new Haval Dargo PLUS targets the market segment with its "hard-edged visuals combined with family-friendly comfort," creating a differentiated competitor to models like Jetour Traveler. A limited-time financing policy (24 installments with 0% interest) and replacement subsidies further lower the entry barrier. Notably, the plug-in hybrid version's pricing overlaps with the Haval Hi4, potentially triggering internal brand diversion.
The 2026 Haval Dargo PLUS solidifies its positioning as a "light off-road family vehicle" through precise configurations (such as the fully integrated intelligent cockpit) and optimized space.
