On October 27th, IM Auto announced the pre-order launch of SAIC's flagship IM LS9 on November 4th. The IM LS9's core competitiveness lies in its seven industry-first technologies, including: the industry's first Digital Chassis 3.0; the industry's first Chinese automaker to feature world-class B&O audio; the industry's first 4D mechanical massage seats; the industry's first integrated ultra-wide-area intelligent searchlight; the industry's first instant fresh air system; the industry's first ERNC 2.0 active noise cancellation technology; and the industry's first luxury outdoor package.
The LS9 also demonstrates its strength in five best-in-class features:
The only two-way 24° intelligent four-wheel steering system in its class, designed to deliver the "best-driving 9 Series" driving experience.
The only 520-line ultra-wide-angle LiDAR standard across its entire range, pushing the boundaries of vehicle intelligent perception.
The IM LS9 boasts the lowest fuel-to-electric combined fuel consumption of 2.81L/100km in its class.
The extended-range model features a 150mm-travel closed dual-chamber air suspension, giving the vehicle flagship-level all-terrain capability.
The extended-range pure electric range of 402km (CLTC) is the longest in its class, striving to eliminate range anxiety.
According to information filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the IM LS9 boasts a standard large SUV size, with a length, width, and height of 5279mm, 2000mm, and 1806mm, respectively. It has a wheelbase of 3160mm and a curb weight of 2695kg. The new vehicle is equipped with a range-extended powertrain featuring a 1.5L range extender from SAIC, producing a maximum power of 114kW. The vehicle also features a dual-motor system with a maximum power of 160kW at the front and 230kW at the rear. The battery is supplied by SAIC.
The IM LS9's optional features fully consider the user's personalized and scenario-specific needs. Optional roof-mounted headlights, camping lights, and LiDAR are available, clearly emphasizing its outdoor camping application. Additionally, users can choose from a variety of wheel designs, including petal-shaped, multi-spoke, and more luxurious "pancake" wheels. The highly anticipated half-width steering wheel is also available as an option within the interior.
The launch of the IM LS9 heralds intensified competition in the domestically produced "9-generation" large SUV market. Its claimed "generation-leading Star Super Extended Range" technology and features designed to surpass competing models across the board make it a strong competitor to models like the Ideal L9 and the Wenjie M9. Further details will be revealed at the pre-sale launch event on November 4th, and its market performance is highly anticipated.
