On October 30th, HYPTEC, the premium brand under GAC Aion, officially announced the launch of the new HYPTEC GT Lite edition. The new car offers two configurations: the 560 Lite and the 630 Lite, with official guide prices of RMB 153,800 and RMB 158,800 respectively. As a new addition to the "young performance coupe" lineup, the Lite edition retains core driving performance and the size of a mid-to-large sedan while further lowering the entry barrier, providing a new option for young consumers.
The HYPTEC GT Lite continues the series' signature "flowing" design language, with a smooth and dynamic overall shape. The new car features a closed front fascia, a sloping roofline, and a continuous waistline design, while the rear is equipped with a diffuser, exuding a sporty feel. Its dimensions are 4886mm in length, 1885mm in width, and 1449mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2920mm, giving it the standard size of a mid-to-large-sized sedan. Compared to the current higher-end model, the Lite version omits the roof-mounted lidar.
The powertrain is one of the highlights of the HYPTEC GT Lite. It features a rear-mounted single motor using Quark electric drive technology, delivering a maximum power of 180kW (245 hp) and a peak torque of 355 N·m. This powertrain gives the Lite version the same acceleration capabilities suitable for both street driving and racing.
In terms of handling, the new car comes standard with the ASTC Eagle Claw system and CST Smooth and Comfort Braking technology, which the company claims provides a stable experience of "no slippage when cornering and no slowdown when cornering." More notably, its turning radius is only 5.3 meters, making it exceptionally agile in narrow city streets or small parking lots, greatly improving the convenience of daily driving. The 630 Lite version also features fixed four-piston front brake calipers, further enhancing braking performance.
The HYPTEC GT Lite offers two range options, both equipped with GAC's self-developed magazine-style battery technology. The 560 Lite version boasts a CLTC pure electric range of 560 kilometers, while the 630 Lite version offers 630 kilometers, covering various needs for daily commutes and intercity travel.
In terms of interior, the HYPTEC GT Lite comes standard with an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central control screen. Specific details regarding the intelligent cockpit chip configuration are currently unavailable.
For comfort and convenience features, the new car offers ventilated/heated front seats, a 360° panoramic camera, and 50W wireless phone charging, satisfying young users' dual pursuit of technology and practicality.
Safety is a key focus of the HYPTEC GT Lite. Its cartridge battery technology has achieved a record of "zero spontaneous combustion" in millions of vehicles, ensuring the safety of the entire battery pack under extreme conditions. In terms of overall vehicle structural safety, the entire HYPTEC GT series has received top ratings from C-NCAP (5 stars) and C-IASI (all "G" ratings).
