Dongfeng Nissan officially announced on November 11th that its first plug-in hybrid sedan, the N6, will officially begin pre-sales on November 13th. The estimated price range for the new car is RMB 120,000 to 150,000, and it is planned to be launched within this quarter. As the second strategic model in the brand's new energy strategy, the N6 is built on the Tianyan architecture. Its appearance in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's announcement marks Dongfeng Nissan's official entry into the plug-in hybrid market.
The N6 continues the minimalist design style of the N7. The front adopts a split headlight design with a continuous LED light strip above, and the wind-wing headlights together outline the V-Motion family-style front face. The side lines of the body are smooth, and it is equipped with hidden door handles. The rear features a smoked, continuous taillight design, echoing the front, while the central illuminated "NISSAN" lettering highlights the brand identity.
The new car adopts a 0.618 golden ratio design, combined with a wheel diameter ratio of 6.7 and a wheel height ratio of 2.1. Its dimensions are 4831mm in length, 1885mm in width, and 1491mm in height (some sources indicate 1494mm), with a wheelbase of 2815mm, positioning it as a mid-size sedan. Through 24 aerodynamic optimizations, 78 hours of wind tunnel testing, and over 600 simulation iterations, the N6's drag coefficient has been optimized to Cd 0.248. It is reported that the new car will offer several body colors, including Streamer Silver, Obsidian Black, and Pearl White.
In terms of intelligence, the N6's cockpit deeply integrates the iFlytek Starfire large-scale model and the DeepSeek-R1 deep reasoning large-scale model, supporting offline dialogue, free and continuous dialogue, and other functions. The vehicle features a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, and its smartphone connectivity supports mainstream solutions such as Huawei HiCar, ICCOA Carlink, and Apple CarPlay, offering good compatibility.
Furthermore, as a sibling model to the Nissan N7, the N6 is expected to inherit the N7's AI zero-pressure cloud carpet seats and "anti-motion sickness" technology, aiming to enhance driving and riding comfort.
The powertrain is a core highlight of the N6. The new car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power output of 75kW. The drive motor has a peak power of 155kW and is equipped with a 21.1kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, which is relatively large in its class. Based on this, its pure electric range under CLTC conditions is estimated to exceed 150 kilometers.
This range performance aims to meet the daily urban commuting needs of users who only need to charge once a week, striving to realize the practical scenario of "using the plug-in hybrid as an electric car." In hybrid mode, the vehicle boasts lower overall fuel consumption, and with a 45L fuel tank capacity, its combined driving range is expected to exceed 1200 kilometers, effectively alleviating range anxiety.
The launch of the Dongfeng Nissan N6 further enriches the brand's product portfolio in the new energy vehicle sector. In the 120,000-150,000 RMB plug-in hybrid sedan market, the N6, with its range, space, and energy efficiency designed to address the core pain points of family users, will become a strong competitor to formidable rivals such as the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i. Its market performance warrants continued attention.
