On November 18th, He Xiaopeng, founder of Xpeng Motors, announced that the Xpeng X9 Super Range Extender has successfully completed a global first-ever test of two high-risk high-speed scenarios. Driving at 120km/h, the AES (Automatic Emergency Avoidance System) automatically avoided a broken-down vehicle with zero errors!
The first test simulated a high-risk scenario of a vehicle breaking down ahead. Five Xpeng X9s traveled at 120 km/h. During the test, the AES system activated, and all five vehicles successfully avoided the simulated broken-down vehicle without any rear-end collisions.
The second test simulated traffic conditions on a complex highway construction section. The vehicles also traveled at 120 km/h, navigating multiple sections of construction zones with detours. During the test, the vehicle's AES (Automatic Emergency Avoidance) system continuously operated, analyzing road conditions and planning the driving path. Ultimately, the vehicle successfully avoided obstacles continuously without a collision.

The Xpeng X9 Super Extended Range MPV will officially launch on November 20th, with a combined range of 1602 kilometers. Pre-sales for this new vehicle began on November 6th:

The vehicle is 5316mm long, 1988mm wide, and 1785mm high, with a wheelbase of 3160mm. It is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery from Zhongchuang Innovation Aviation, a drive motor with a rated power of 110kW and a peak power of 210kW, and an engine with a maximum net power of 110kW.
The Xpeng X9 Super Range Extender adds a new "Aurora Blue" exterior color, using the same BASF high-transparency clear coat as Bentley/Rolls-Royce; the interior features a new "Cloud Rose Brown" two-tone design, blending rose brown and tranquil white.
The Xpeng X9 Super Range Extender is equipped with a 60L fuel tank and a 62.5kWh battery, achieving a CLTC combined range of 1602km and a CLTC pure electric range of over 452km, claiming to be the world's longest seven-seater in terms of range.
This vehicle features a world-first three-row electric folding system. The third-row seats can be electrically folded flat in a 40/60 split, transforming the vehicle into a camping bed for four people, accommodating two seats and two bicycles for five, accommodating one person and pets for six, and still able to fit seven 24-inch suitcases even with all seven seats occupied.
The new vehicle is equipped with a third-generation 1.5T high-efficiency turbocharged intercooled engine, comprehensively optimized for "electric-dominant, gasoline-assisted" operating conditions. Even with a low battery, it can still maintain a stable cruising speed of 150km/h, ensuring ample and stable power performance even at low battery levels. Meanwhile, the new vehicle boasts a WLTP combined fuel consumption of as low as 2.53L/100km.
Notably, Xpeng Automotive has also collaborated with Castrol to develop a special engine oil for the super range extender, requiring an oil change only once every 20,000 kilometers on average.
The Xpeng X9 super range extender also features a world-first 800V hybrid silicon carbide coaxial electric drive, employing a highly integrated coaxial architecture that is 30% smaller than its predecessor. It boasts a CLTC (Clean Energy Traction Control) efficiency of up to 93.5%, combining high integration with strong power, delivering a peak torque of 465N·m, and achieving no power reduction even at a low SOC (State of Charge) level. In addition, the new vehicle integrates a high-voltage oil-cooled generator, which can generate more than 3.6 kWh/L of electricity per liter of oil.
