On November 20, 2025, Xpeng Motors officially launched the 2026 X9 Super Extended-Range MPV at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The new model offers two configurations: Max and Ultra, with official guide prices of RMB 309,800 and RMB 329,800 respectively. Developed based on global standards and undergoing 800 days of rigorous testing, this model utilizes "Kunpeng Super Extended-Range Technology" at its core, achieving a combined range of 1602 kilometers and a pure electric range of 452 kilometers, completely eliminating range anxiety for long-distance travel.
The Xpeng X9 Extended-Range version continues the Starship 2.0 design language, adopting a world-first onebox luxury wide-body design, breaking away from the traditional "boxy" image of MPVs. The front face features a supercar-style AGS intelligent variable air intake grille and air deflectors, reducing wind resistance by 0.02Cd. A new Aurora Blue exterior color option is added, paired with BASF clear coat, increasing paint hardness by 40%. The floating roof and hidden door handles are retained on the sides, while a new "PowerX" exclusive badge is added to the rear. The vehicle measures 5316mm in length and has a 3160mm wheelbase, offering a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, ensuring over 1 meter of legroom in each row.
The X9's interior features a new "Cloud Rose Brown" two-tone color scheme, with 26.6㎡ of soft-touch materials and 4.2 meters of imported African Ayous wood trim. A 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 17.3-inch central control screen are standard, while the Ultra version adds a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen with 0-75° electric adjustment. In terms of space, the 7.7㎡ interior area is complemented by a 180mm central aisle, and the third row supports electric tri-folding for a completely flat fold with a single touch. In terms of configuration, it offers 27 HiFi-grade speakers, a 10.8L refrigerator (both hot and cold), and heated/ventilated/massaging front seats.
The intelligent driving system is a highlight: the Max version is equipped with a single Turing AI chip (750 TOPS computing power), supporting highway/city NGP assisted driving; the Ultra version is upgraded to three chips (total computing power 2250 TOPS), adding VLA visual language and VLM personal assistant functions, with the second-generation VLA large model to be released in 2026. In terms of safety, it adopts submarine-grade protection standards, including a unibody die-cast aluminum body (torsional stiffness 46,000 N・m/deg) and 9 airbags. The battery pack meets the new national standard for 2026, can withstand 2000J impact, and will not catch fire within 24 hours of thermal runaway.
The X9 is equipped with a 1.5T high-efficiency range extender (maximum power 110kW) and a rear-mounted single motor (210kW), coupled with an 800V high-voltage platform and a 63.3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. It boasts a pure electric range of 452km (CLTC) and a combined range of 1602km, with a WLTP fuel consumption as low as 2.53L/100km. It supports 5C supercharging technology, providing 313km of range in just 10 minutes, and is compatible with 92-octane gasoline. The chassis features a dual-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering, combined with a 6D anti-motion sickness algorithm to enhance driving stability.
From now until the end of 2025, users can enjoy benefits up to RMB 60,000, including a lifetime warranty on the range extender, financial subsidies, and free optional configurations. As Xpeng's first extended-range model, the X9 enters the high-end MPV market with its ultra-long range and intelligent features, and is expected to challenge traditional gasoline-powered competitors.
