On November 25th, GAC AION announced the full commencement of deliveries for the AION UT super, a "people's car" jointly launched by JD, CATL, and GAC. The first batch of deliveries was held at the GAC AION booth at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The vehicle features "GAC Huawei Cloud Car System" technology and a 500km range battery that is rechargeable and swappable. Battery rental is available for RMB 49,900, while the total purchase price is RMB 89,900.
With its affordable price and superior features, this model garnered over 30,000 orders during the pre-sale phase, becoming a dark horse in the new energy family car market. According to information filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the UT super is positioned as a pure electric compact SUV, with dimensions of 4560×1880×1605mm and a wheelbase of 2750mm, balancing the flexibility of urban commuting with the space needs of family travel.
The UT Super features GAC AION's self-developed "Cylinder Battery 2.0" technology, offering two range versions:
Standard Range Version: 55kWh battery capacity, CLTC combined range of 430km, supports fast charging to 80% in 30 minutes;
Long Range Version: 68kWh battery capacity, CLTC range exceeding 510km, energy consumption as low as 12.3kWh per 100km.
The motor system uses a highly integrated 150kW permanent magnet synchronous motor with a peak torque of 310N·m, achieving 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.8 seconds, balancing power response and energy economy.
The interior features a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch floating central control screen, equipped with the ADiGO SPACE intelligent cockpit system, supporting continuous voice dialogue, Huawei HiCar connectivity, and OTA remote upgrades. The seats are upholstered in eco-friendly suede, with the driver's seat offering 6-way power adjustment. The rear seats can be folded down in sections, expanding the trunk capacity to 1280L. Furthermore, the UT super comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control and wireless phone charging. Higher-spec models add a Level 2 driver assistance system, including adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.
The exterior continues the AION family's "Starship" design language, featuring a closed grille and split matrix headlights. The sides are equipped with hidden door handles and 18-inch low-drag wheels, achieving a drag coefficient as low as 0.29Cd. The interior offers two color schemes: "Minimalist White" and "Space Gray." The center console features a layered design, retaining a few physical buttons for improved ease of use.
The mass delivery of the AION UT super marks a new stage in the deep integration of new energy vehicle manufacturers and e-commerce platforms. Its precise product positioning and solid configuration are expected to carve out incremental space in the highly competitive compact SUV market.
