The 2026 NIO ET5 officially debuted on April 2, 2026. As the flagship model among the brand's mid-size smart electric coupes, it has undergone a comprehensive evolution across three key dimensions: design, comfort, and intelligent experience. The vehicle retains its low-drag coupe silhouette, boasting a drag coefficient as low as 0.24. This design is complemented by a five-link suspension system at both the front and rear, along with a virtual kingpin front suspension structure, endowing the vehicle with precise handling responsiveness and stable cornering performance.
The entire lineup comes standard with a dual-motor intelligent all-wheel-drive system, delivering a maximum output of 360 kW and a peak torque of 700 N·m. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4.0 seconds, characterized by a power response that is both swift and linear.
Regarding the interior, the 2026 ET5 completely eliminates tiered options for comfort features; the entire series now comes standard with Nappa leather seats and an Alcantara headliner, creating a cabin atmosphere brimming with a sense of premium luxury. The "Comfort & Enjoyment Package"—previously exclusive to high-trim models—has now been made standard across the entire lineup. This package encompasses front-seat ventilation and massage functions, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, an intelligent fragrance system, and a negative ion air purification system, ensuring a truly undifferentiated luxury experience for all users. The Continuous Damping Control (CDC) system works in tandem with hydraulic bushings in the rear subframe to effectively filter out road bumps, thereby enhancing comfort during long-distance driving.
In terms of intelligent experience, the vehicle is equipped with the Cedar S 1.4.6 intelligent driving system. This system incorporates the latest version of the NIO World Model (NWM), enabling more natural lane selection and sophisticated traffic interaction strategies within complex urban environments. The exterior rearview mirrors feature integrated intelligent driving status indicators, utilizing intuitive light signals to visually communicate the system's operational status, thereby reducing the cognitive burden on the user regarding the system's operational boundaries. A 12.8-inch central touchscreen display is paired with a 23-speaker audio system, supporting multi-zone voice interaction via the NOMI intelligent voice assistant to deliver an immersive human-vehicle communication experience. Additionally, a new "EP Mode" (Track Mode) has been introduced; combined with a simulated engine sound system, it offers drivers a more exhilarating, high-performance driving scenario. Another model launched on the same day is the 2026 NIO ET5T. As the shooting brake variant of the ET5, it retains the same powertrain and intelligent features while catering to users' dual pursuit of practicality and individuality through a more spacious cargo area (expandable up to 1,687 liters) and exclusive exterior design details.
