The 2026 BMW i5 is a benchmark in the electric luxury sedan segment. As BMW's flagship all-electric luxury sedan, the 2026 i5 redefines the driving experience of mid-to-large-sized electric sedans with its outstanding design, powerful performance, rich features, and advanced intelligent technology.

Design Language: A Fusion of Classic and Future

The 2026 BMW i5 continues the classic design elements of the BMW family while incorporating a futuristic feel for the electric era. The double-kidney grille features a closed design with embedded LED light strips, making it highly recognizable at night. The body lines are smooth and dynamic, with a long hood and short front overhang enhancing its sporty stance. A continuous waistline extends from the front wheel arches to the taillights, paired with 18-20 inch low-drag wheels, creating a poised and ready visual effect. At the rear, the independent taillights are elongated, with the internal light sources creating a continuous effect when illuminated, complemented by the rear diffuser trim, balancing sportiness and electric characteristics.

Powertrain and Range: Diverse Options to Meet Different Needs

The 2026 BMW i5 offers two powertrain options: single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive, catering to different driving preferences.

Single-motor rear-wheel drive version: Equipped with either a 200kW or 240kW electric motor, both producing a peak torque of 410N·m. 0-100km/h acceleration times are 6.7 seconds and 6.2 seconds respectively. It is paired with either an 81.6kWh or 97kWh battery pack, offering CLTC ranges of 602km and 713km respectively.

Dual-motor all-wheel drive version: With a combined maximum power of 385kW and a peak torque of 795N·m, it accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. It is paired with a 97kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 651km.

All models support fast charging, reaching 80% charge in just 33 minutes. A standard battery preheating and liquid cooling temperature control system ensures that range degradation is kept below 18% at -10℃.

Intelligent Technology: Leading the Future of Mobility

The 2026 BMW i5 features a floating curved screen composed of a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central control screen. The infotainment system includes the iDrive 9 system, supporting 5G networks, real-time navigation, voice interaction, and an in-car app store. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant supports "three-voice" voice control, allowing simultaneous execution of multiple commands and improving human-machine interaction efficiency. Furthermore, a 31-inch rear entertainment screen is available as an option, creating an immersive four-screen interconnected experience.

Regarding driver assistance, the 2026 BMW i5 comes standard with Level 2 basic driver assistance functions, including full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, and automatic parking. The top-of-the-line model is equipped with a gaze-controlled lane change function; after the system monitors road conditions and ensures safety, the driver only needs to glance at the rearview mirror to automatically complete overtaking maneuvers, enhancing driving safety and convenience.

The 2026 BMW i5 comes standard with luxurious features such as a wraparound interactive light strip, panoramic sunroof, and four-zone automatic climate control. The seats are upholstered in Veganza leather and offer heating, ventilation, electric adjustment, and memory functions. Higher trim levels also feature a Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins sound system for an exceptional audio experience. Furthermore, the vehicle offers seven exterior color options, including base colors like Mineral White, Carbon Black, and Quantum Blue, as well as optional colors such as Matte Solid Gray, catering to individual preferences.
