On June 8, 2025, Chery Automobile officially released the new model of EXEED Yaoguang C-DM hybrid SUV - "LUXEED", with an official guide price of RMB 218,800. As the eighth configuration model of the 2025 Yaoguang C-DM series, the new car lowers the threshold by streamlining some high-end configurations, directly targeting BYD Tang DM, LYNK&CO 08 EM-P and other competitors.
Appearance: Continuing the family-style semi-enclosed front face + fastback shape, equipped with through-type taillights, hidden door handles and 19-inch wheels (235/55 R19), the body size remains 4781×1920×1671mm, and the wheelbase is 2815mm.
Interior: Standard dual 12.3-inch integrated screen, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and Lion 5.0 system, supports Apple CarPlay/Huawei HiCar interconnection, retains the hand-held gear shift mechanism and physical air conditioning buttons.
Hybrid system: adopts 1.5T engine (115kW/220N·m) + motor combination, with a total power of 280kW and a torque of 610N·m, matched with a 3-speed DHT gearbox.
Battery configuration: equipped with a 34.46kWh battery pack (some reports say 18.67kWh), CLTC pure electric endurance has three expressions of 100km/160km/200km, and a standard 6.6kW external discharge function.
Compared with high-end models, LUXEED cancels CDC electromagnetic suspension, lane assist, memory parking, mobile phone wireless charging and other configurations, but retains L2 assisted driving (including adaptive cruise, transparent chassis, etc.) and front seat heating/ventilation functions. This version fills the gap between the 159,900 yuan basic version and the high-end model with a price difference of 58,900 yuan, targeting budget-sensitive users.
Technical endorsement and comparison with competing products
Yaoguang C-DM is developed based on the Chery M3X super hybrid native platform, and its hybrid system has won the "China Heart" Top Ten Engine Certification. Compared with BYD Tang DM, LUXEED is close in power parameters (Tang DM system comprehensive power 254kW) and wheelbase (Tang DM wheelbase 2820mm), but the price is about 30,000 yuan lower.
The launch of LUXEED further enriches the Yaoguang C-DM product line. By precisely reducing configurations and achieving price reductions, it is expected to become a "disruptor" in the 200,000-class hybrid SUV market. However, the different descriptions of endurance data from different channels must be subject to the final announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
