On July 3, Geely Galaxy E5 SUV launched a new official version, with a guide price of 179,800 yuan, and is sold simultaneously to the personal and official markets. This version offers three exterior colors: Streamer Silver, Dawn White, and Morning Mist Gray, continuing the family design language: slender LED headlights with fold line decorative lower surround, hidden door handles and 2750mm wheelbase (body size 4615×1901×1670mm).
The interior is equipped with a 10.2-inch LCD instrument + 14.6-inch central control screen combination, and adopts a hand-gear shift mechanism. Although the price is 36,000 yuan higher than the second-highest configuration, it cancels the configurations such as exterior mirror heating/folding, panoramic sunroof, seat massage/ventilation, etc., and the power is still equipped with a 160kW front single motor + 60.22kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a CLTC range of 530km.
According to the information reported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China in May this year, Galaxy E5 has reported a new version equipped with a 68.39kWh battery pack, and the CLTC battery life has been increased to 610km (operating conditions are not clear), which is 80km longer than the current top configuration. The new version of the battery supplier has been added to Guoxuan High-tech, the curb weight remains in the range of 1730-1778kg, and the power system remains unchanged.
The current Galaxy E5 is priced at RMB 107,800-143,800 and is built on the GEA new energy architecture. The business version strengthens its business attributes by simplifying the configuration, while the 610km battery life version targets long-distance travel needs. The price is expected to remain in the range of RMB 100,000-140,000, forming a differentiated competition with competing products such as BYD Yuan (ATTO) PLUS.
