On July 17, smart China officially announced that its first plug-in hybrid model, Jingling 5# EHD, will be launched soon. The new car is based on the pure electric version of Jingling 5, with a body size of 4705*1920*1710mm and a wheelbase of 2900mm. It continues the "square box" design and adds the exclusive "Star Vortex Blue" color, with a room rate of 85%, which is the leading in the same class.
Endurance performance: CLTC comprehensive endurance exceeds 1,600km, pure electric endurance is 250km, and the fuel consumption of power supply is only 4.4L/100km, which doubles the endurance of the pure electric version of 740km;
Power system: Equipped with Geely Thor hybrid technology (speculation), the declared information shows that it provides single motor 250kW/267kW and dual motor 165+267kW, 165+310kW (BRABUS version) multiple versions to choose from;
High-voltage platform: retain the advantages of the pure electric version 800V architecture, support 4C ultra-fast charging technology, and can charge 10%-80% of the power in 15 minutes;
Display system: 25.6-inch AR-HUD+10.3-inch LCD instrument+13-inch OLED 2.5K dual central control screen, supporting driver and passenger zone entertainment;
Intelligent driving: Standard "watchtower-style" laser radar, with automatic emergency braking, fully automatic parking and other functions, and can be expanded through OTA upgrades in the future;
Special features: The built-in projector in the front of the car supports outdoor theaters, the D-pillar luminous LOGO enhances night recognition, and the roof searchlight and side ladder are optional;
The starting price of the new Jingling 5# EHD is expected to drop to less than RMB 200,000, which is more price competitive than the pure electric version (starting at RMB 239,900). It is mainly benchmarked against medium-sized new energy SUVs such as Leapmotor C11 and Nezha L. Its "urban and wild" product characteristics, combined with 233-inch exterior projection, Sennheiser classic audio (20 speakers/2000W power) and other configurations, strengthen the differentiated positioning of urban explorers.
With the launch of Jingling 5# EHD, the smart brand has officially formed a "pure electric + plug-in hybrid" dual-line layout, which is expected to improve the market performance of current pure electric models. According to the latest data from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the vehicle has passed multiple safety certifications and is expected to be officially delivered in Q4 2025.
