On September 16, 2025, in Wuhu, China, the Chery iCAR brand announced that the first mass-produced model of the all-new 2026 "Super V23" boxy SUV officially rolled off the production line at the Wuhu Super Factory in Anhui Province, marking the start of the delivery countdown for this hardcore electric SUV, targeted at the younger market. The new model, which will be launched on September 21st, features a fully upgraded powertrain and is equipped with the latest CATL battery cell technology.
The dual electric motors deliver a peak power of 455 horsepower (150kW front + 185kW rear), a combined torque of 490N·m, and a 0-100km/h acceleration of 4.5 seconds. A new one-touch Boost mode is also available.
Compared to the 2025 model's single electric motor with 100kW power, the new model boasts over three times the power, with the all-wheel drive version boasting a total motor power of 335kW.
Equipped with an 81kWh ternary lithium battery (four-wheel drive version), it supports 160kW ultra-fast charging and can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes.
The two-wheel drive version has a CLTC range of 550km, and the four-wheel drive version has a range of 501km. This range has been described by users as "reversely inflated."
The classic boxy design is maintained, with round headlights and a red "S" sports logo on the front. Six modification kits are available, including a Military Enthusiast Edition and a Wild Fishing Edition.
With dimensions of 4249×1915×1845mm (including spare tire), a wheelbase of 2735mm, and a minimum ground clearance of 210mm, the vehicle offers superior passability to competitors in its class.
Combined with the new policy announced by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in July 2025, which will halve the purchase tax on new energy vehicles starting in 2026 (saving up to 15,000 RMB), and the V23's pre-sale price range of 110,000-150,000 RMB, the vehicle offers significant value for money. The 2025 V23 previously set a record with over 31,000 orders in just eight hours, and the new model is expected to continue its explosive growth.
All models come standard with a 15.4-inch central control screen and a new LCD instrument panel. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, it supports Level 2++ intelligent driving and CarPlay connectivity.
It offers 29 modification ports and a roof rack with a load capacity of 200kg, making it suitable for various scenarios such as camping and fishing.
The launch of the Super V23 marks the Chery iCAR's dual-dimensional upgrade in the 100,000-150,000 RMB pure electric SUV market, combining "performance and personalization." Its core specifications combined with favorable policies may reshape the market landscape in the compact SUV segment.
