The 2025 CHERY ICAR V27 officially debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show. As the flagship model of the iCAR brand's V series, it is positioned as a mid-to-large-sized rugged SUV, offering both city and off-road versions. The new car continues the family's boxy design, with dimensions of 4909mm for the city version and 5055mm for the off-road version, and a wheelbase of 2910mm, providing ample passenger space.
The ICAR V27 adopts a futuristic classic design concept. The front features a narrow grille paired with a ring-shaped LED light strip, resembling a "starry sky window" double sunroof. The roof is equipped with a removable roof rack and hidden electric running boards, balancing off-road protection with urban sophistication. Two packages are available: an externally mounted spare tire and a "small backpack" storage box. The yellow paint version adds a trendy touch, while the vertical taillights and side-opening tailgate pay homage to the classic boxy shape.
The V27's interior adopts an "Interstellar Cockpit" design concept, equipped with a 15.4-inch central control screen and an 8295 chip, resulting in smoother operation and supporting online navigation, entertainment, mobile phone connectivity, OTA upgrades, and voice interaction. The column shifter effectively frees up space in the central tunnel, which features a double-layer layout. The upper layer includes a wireless charging pad for mobile phones and retains physical air conditioning controls and a driving mode selector knob.
The interior space is excellent, boasting a 69.9% usable floor area ratio. The interior height is 1357mm, rear lateral space is 1510mm, and legroom is 950mm. The vehicle also features 50 ample storage spaces throughout, meeting the practical needs of family travel.
The ICAR V27 is equipped with CHERY's leading "Golden Range Extender" system, based on the award-winning 1.5T range extender engine, boasting a thermal efficiency of 45.79% and generating 3.71 kWh of electricity per liter of fuel. It features a standard 34.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a pure electric range of over 200 km and a combined range of over 1200 km. With 455 horsepower from dual front and rear motors, it achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under 5 seconds, balancing power and fuel efficiency.
During the test drive, the ICAR V27 demonstrated excellent handling performance. Deeply tuned by the internationally renowned Prov racing team and enhanced by its Super All-Wheel Drive system, the V27 inherits iCAR's driving genes, delivering a benchmark driving experience of "stability on highways and precision on mountain roads" even in a 5-meter-long vehicle.

The rear seats can accommodate two additional entertainment screens, enabling three-screen interconnection, or these can be removed and used as an iPad.
The door opening mechanism is somewhat illogical; the driver's leg directly blocks the door handle, making it inconvenient to use.
The ICAR V27 is equipped with the Horizon HSD advanced intelligent driving system, and in collaboration with partners such as Hesai, it features the "Falcon 700" intelligent assistance system, boasting three major advantages: ultra-low latency, advanced prediction, and superior vehicle control, placing it among the top tier of intelligent vehicles. The high-end version offers lidar, supporting NOA in all urban/highway scenarios, automatic parking, and a transparent chassis.
The ICAR V27 is expected to be priced between 200,000 and 250,000 RMB, with main competitors including popular models such as the Formula Leopard 5 and Tank 300. The new vehicle will begin blind pre-orders in December and will officially launch globally in the first quarter of 2026.
