Mercedes-Benz officially confirmed that the long-wheelbase electric CLA, built on the new MMA platform, will officially launch in October 2025. Pre-orders opened on September 25th, offering two configurations: the 300L Long-Range version (259,000 RMB) and the 300L Long-Range Premium version (299,000 RMB). According to a Mercedes-Benz China executive, the vehicle will feature a smart driving system jointly developed with Momenta, making it a key strategic model for the brand's electrification transformation.
Exterior: Features a sporty coupe-like design, with dimensions of 4763×1856×1469mm and a wheelbase of 2830mm, 40mm longer than the standard wheelbase version. The front fascia features 142 illuminated star-pattern grille elements, along with frameless doors and hidden door handles, resulting in a low drag coefficient of 0.21Cd.
Interior: Standard features include a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen. An optional 14-inch passenger-side entertainment screen is available, supporting gesture control and AR-HUD. The steering wheel-mounted gear selector retains classic Mercedes design elements, and the interior uses recycled polyamide materials.
Range and Charging: Equipped with an 85kWh ternary lithium-ion battery, it offers a CLTC range of 866km and an energy consumption of 10.9kWh per 100km. The 800V architecture supports 320kW fast charging, adding 370km of range in 10 minutes.
Powertrain: The rear-wheel drive version has a 200kW motor, while the all-wheel drive version has a combined output of 260kW, achieving 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds. A new two-speed transmission optimizes energy efficiency at high speeds.
MB.OS Architecture: Integrates four core functions: smart cockpit, autonomous driving, etc., and utilizes the DuerOS AI large language model for natural voice interaction.
Driver Assistance: Equipped with an NVIDIA Orin chip (254 TOPS computing power), supporting L2++ level full-scenario driver assistance, using a map-free end-to-end technology solution. Safety Standards: It has achieved a five-star rating in the China Electric Vehicle Fire Safety Index and comes standard with 11 airbags (including a front-row center airbag).
The all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA, with a starting price of 259,000 yuan, directly targets competitors such as the Tesla Model 3 and Xiaomi SU7. Its key differentiators include:
Luxury Heritage: Traditional luxury elements like the iconic Mercedes-Benz grille and Nappa leather are seamlessly integrated with electric vehicle technology;
Technological Breakthrough: The 800V platform and two-speed transmission set a new benchmark for energy efficiency;
Localized Adaptation: The extended wheelbase design and Momenta autonomous driving system are specifically optimized for the Chinese market.
As the first model to debut on the MMA platform, the all-electric CLA showcases Mercedes-Benz's ambitious vision of "electrification and intelligence."
