Mercedes-Benz has officially announced that the all-new all-electric CLA Coupe will go on sale on November 5th, 2025. Pre-sales began on September 25th, with pre-sale prices ranging from RMB 259,000 to RMB 299,000. As a key component of the brand's entry into the compact all-electric market, this car, officially dubbed the "smartest Mercedes-Benz ever" for its cutting-edge design, robust range, and intelligent technology, is expected to pose a direct challenge to competitors like the Tesla Model 3.
The all-new all-electric CLA adopts Mercedes-Benz's latest coupe design language. The front fascia features a breathable grille composed of 142 stars, which can be dynamically illuminated and has a welcome mode, creating a starry visual feast. The sleek exterior lines and fastback roof enhance its sporty feel. The wheelbase reaches 2830mm, 40mm longer than the overseas version, ensuring comfortable rear-seat space. Dimensions are 4763mm long, 1836mm wide, and 1471mm high (some versions vary slightly). Available in five exterior colors: Obsidian Black, Moon Silver, Lava Red, Pine Mist Green, and Arctic White, the SUV offers a personalized look. With over 500 liters of storage space, including both the front and rear trunks, the SUV offers exceptional practicality.
At the rear, the star emblem is incorporated into the through-type taillights, echoing the front, while the small ducktail and diffuser further enhance the vehicle's sporty presence. The overall design draws inspiration from the Vision EQXX concept car, seamlessly blending futuristic flair with luxurious elegance.
The interior design is centered around a sense of technology, featuring three high-definition screens: a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 14.6-inch center console, and an optional 14-inch passenger entertainment screen, forming a continuous MBUX hyper-screen layout. The new car is equipped with the in-house-developed MB.OS architecture, integrating intelligent cockpit and driver assistance functions. It also incorporates Doubao AI and Aspire voice technology to achieve "on-demand interaction." For example, the system can automatically provide traffic information and coffee shop directions on commuting days, enhancing vehicle convenience.
The new car is available in two main versions: the CLA 300 L Long Range Edition (pre-sale price RMB 259,000) and the CLA 300 L Long Range Leading Smart Edition (pre-sale price RMB 299,000). The higher-end model adds City Pilot Assist and AMG body style components. Standard features include reverse parking, a Snapdragon 8295 chip, a panoramic sunroof, and interior ambient lighting. Notably, the panoramic sunroof features a double-layer low-emissivity coating for effective heat insulation and reduced energy consumption.
The CLA 300 L version is built on an 800V silicon carbide platform. It features a rear-wheel drive motor with a maximum power of 200kW, paired with the world's first electric two-speed transmission designed specifically for energy efficiency. It boasts a CLTC range of 866km and an energy consumption of just 10.9kWh per 100km. Its outstanding charging performance allows for a 370km range in just 10 minutes, significantly alleviating range anxiety. Furthermore, filings with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology indicate that a CLA 260 L version has also been filed, equipped with a 165kW motor. The price is expected to drop further.
The battery pack utilizes an 89kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack (some reports indicate 85kWh), ensuring stable and efficient energy management. This powertrain combination gives the new car leading energy efficiency among electric vehicles in its class.
Intelligent driving is a major highlight of the new car. It features the MB.DRIVE intelligent driving assistance system, supporting Level 2++ advanced intelligent driving features. Developed in collaboration with Momenta, the system has passed the rigorous "Benz Safety Redundancy Test" and can proactively avoid large trucks' crosswinds during high-speed lane changes, enhancing safety. The model comes standard with 11 airbags, including a remote center airbag, and has undergone extreme crash testing to ensure industry-leading passenger compartment deformation.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz all-electric CLA is priced between 250,000 and 300,000 RMB, aiming to compete head-on with models like the Tesla Model 3 and the BMW i4. Its extended wheelbase and localized China configurations reflect Mercedes-Benz's strategic transformation to "In China, for the World." Industry analysts note that the new car's technology parity strategy has reduced 800V system costs by 18%, resulting in high cost-performance.
