On November 9th, Great Wall Motor (GWM)'s ORA brand announced that the pre-sale launch event for its first all-electric SUV, the ORA 5, will be held at Baoding on November 12th at 16:30.
The ORA 5 continues the brand's family design style, with its signature round headlights being highly recognizable. The closed front fascia highlights its all-electric identity. Compared to the Good Cat, its front end has sharper angles, larger air vents in the front bumper, and air intakes on both sides, creating a more dynamic look.
The side profile features what the company calls a "flowing" curve design. The B-pillar is finished in black and equipped with conventional door handles and roof rails, balancing aesthetics and practicality. At the rear, the "horizontal" taillights feature a simple design that blends seamlessly with the rear window, creating a strong sense of unity.
In terms of color options, the new car offers six exterior colors, including Aurora Green, Cliff White, and Sienna Gray, as well as three interior color schemes: Dawn White, Midday Brown, and Starry Night Gray, providing consumers with a wide range of personalized choices.
Intelligent driving is a core selling point of the ORA 5. The new car is equipped with a lidar sensor on the roof, combined with multiple cameras on the windshield and fenders, to create a powerful perception system. This means it will feature the third-generation Coffee Pilot Ultra driver assistance system, supporting advanced intelligent driving functions such as city NOA and highway NOA, making daily commutes and long-distance travel easier and safer.
The interior technology is equally impressive. The new car features the third-generation Coffee OS infotainment system and integrates Coffee GPT and DeepSeek large models, aiming to provide a more intelligent and natural interactive experience. The interior features fabric mesh and checkered upholstery, complemented by a floating center console screen, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and a column-mounted gear selector, creating a warm atmosphere while ensuring ease of operation.
In terms of dimensions, the ORA 5 measures 4471/1833(1844)/1641 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2720 mm. This wheelbase surpasses that of the ORA Good Cat, providing a spacious interior that exceeds that of other small SUVs in its class. The vehicle also features a flat floor design and a sunken trunk, improving space utilization and loading flexibility.
In terms of powertrain, the ORA 5 is equipped with a 150 kW (approximately 204 hp) electric motor, ensuring ample driving power. Two capacity lithium iron phosphate battery packs (both supplied by Svolt Energy) are available, offering corresponding CLTC ranges of 480 km and 580 km respectively, sufficient to cover daily urban commutes and short trips. The chassis uses a combination of front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link independent suspension, which helps to improve ride comfort.
