Lixiang i8 is the first pure electric SUV developed by Lixiang Automobile. Since it was listed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's declaration catalog on April 16, it has continued to attract attention. This medium-to-large-sized six-seater family SUV is unveiled with a length of 5085mm, a wheelbase of 3050mm and a crossover fastback shape. The drag coefficient is expected to be lower than MEGA's 0.215Cd. It is equipped with laser radar and dual-motor four-wheel drive system (150kW+250kW) as standard.

Provide two battery packs of 90.1kWh/97.8kWh, with CLTC battery life of 670km/720km respectively;
Energy consumption publicity controversy: The initial poster marked 13.4kWh/100km, which was questioned as the calculated value of "battery capacity ÷ CLTC battery life", not the actual measured announcement value. Lixiang has officially revised it to 14.6kWh/100km;
Supports 5C super-fast charging, replenishes 500km of battery life in 10 minutes, and supports the construction plan of 2,500+ super-charging stations;
Design language innovation
Integrates MEGA and L series elements: the star ring light is placed under the front windshield, and the split headlights integrate laser radar;
The crossover style sacrifices some trunk space, but improves the utilization rate of the passenger compartment by compressing the front of the car;

Equipped with Hesai ATL customized laser radar, supports AEB/AES functions, and hardware reserves L3 upgrade space;
Lixiang i8 is priced in the 400,000 yuan range and is expected to be launched in July this year, facing competitors such as Xpeng G9 and LUXEED R7. The differentiation lies in the "home-first" six-seat layout and comfort adjustment. However, the recent energy consumption publicity storm has exposed the shortcomings of new forces in the standardization of technical expressions. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Guidelines for Intelligent Connected Vehicles" may further restrict such marketing behaviors.
Lixiang i8 marks a key step for Lixiang to switch from extended-range to pure electric. Its space and energy replenishment system have obvious advantages, but how to balance publicity gimmicks and technical transparency will become an important test of consumer trust.
