Recently, with the strict requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China for the safety publicity of automatic assisted driving of smart cars, many Chinese car brands have also followed the policy requirements to further standardize the automatic driving assistance functions of cars. At the launch conference of the new ES6/EC6 in Hefei, NIO Automobile demonstrated the industry's first mass-produced emergency autonomous pull-over parking function. This technology is integrated into the newly released "NIO World Model NWM" architecture. When the system detects that the driver has lost consciousness due to fatigue or sudden illness, it will intervene in three steps: high-frequency sound and light alarm wake-up → automatic deceleration and lane change to the emergency lane → triggering SOS rescue call and unlocking the door. It is worth noting that this function has been launched simultaneously with the new ET5T, new ES6/EC6 and other models, and the first batch of users will get the upgrade through OTA at the end of June.
Different from the common functional demonstrations in the industry, the key to NIO's mass production lies in its "honeycomb computing architecture" - the self-developed Shenji NX9031 chip uses 128 independently schedulable computing units to complete the recognition and response of sudden road conditions 120 meters away within 83 milliseconds. At the hardware level, the 29 high-performance perception hardware (including 4D imaging radar and ultra-long-range laser radar) equipped in the new ET5T provide the system with centimeter-level environmental modeling capabilities. Huang Xin, head of NIO's intelligent driving, emphasized: "This is equivalent to applying L3-level safety redundancy to L2 systems."
