On November 27th, Leapmotor officially launched its new 2026 Lafa 5 model. The Lafa 5 measures 4430mm in length, 1880mm in width, and 1520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2735mm. It features an AGS active grille shutter, a split front lip, and air curtains, boasting a 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution. In terms of exterior materials, the car emphasizes quality with high-gloss black piano lacquer exterior trim and high-gloss black glass B-pillar trim. Styling-wise, the new car features frameless doors, 19-inch swept-wing sport wheels, a wing-shaped starburst taillight, and a sports car-specific diffuser.
For color options, the car offers six exterior paint choices: Electric Yellow, Wind Gray, Starry Night Blue, Morgan Pink, Galaxy Silver, and Metallic Black, as well as three interior options: Shadow Gray, Speed Purple, and Racing Gray.
The Leapmotor Lafa 5 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P automotive chip, a 360° panoramic camera, and a 180° transparent chassis, boasting a comprehensive view for city driving. The car includes a Leap Sound 12-speaker system, a 14.6-inch central control screen, and an 8.8-inch instrument panel, along with 50W air-cooled wireless fast charging.
The new car's electric motor delivers a peak power of 160kW and a peak torque of 240N·m, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.4 seconds and a turning radius of only 5.17 meters. According to the introduction, the new car is equipped with two types of lithium iron phosphate batteries: 56.2kWh and 67.1kWh, offering CLTC-rated ranges of 515km and 605km respectively.
The new vehicle comes standard with an 800V high-voltage architecture, capable of replenishing 200km of range in just 5 minutes and charging from 10% to 80% in only 15 minutes, maintaining 85% range even in winter.
The Leapmotor Lafa 5 is equipped with a LiDAR and a Qualcomm 8650 chip with 200 TOPS of computing power, featuring 27 sensing hardware components and a built-in end-to-end large model, enabling NAC navigation-assisted cruise control in cities without high-precision maps. Simultaneously, the new vehicle's intelligent cockpit incorporates a DeepSeek + Tongyi Qianwen dual AI voice model, supports voiceprint recognition, and offers a "Leapmotor Smart Sticker" accessory for easy access to frequently used functions.
A special edition Lafa5 Ultra is also available, integrating exclusive exterior kits including a front splitter, side skirts, a sporty rear wing, and a diffuser. This model will be launched in the second quarter of next year.
