The 2026 SAIC H5 officially launched on June 18, 2026. Positioned as a mid-sized new energy SUV, it is a joint creation by SAIC and Huawei. Built on a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive architecture, it features the HarmonyOS smart cockpit and Huawei Qiankun intelligent driving system. The lineup comprises six trim levels across two powertrain options—extended-range and pure electric—to cater to diverse user needs and travel scenarios.
The extended-range series includes two trim levels: Pro and Max+. All models in this series are equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated range-extending engine and a 32.6 kWh battery pack. They offer a CLTC pure-electric range of 235 km and a combined range of 1,360 km with a full tank and full charge, enabling pure-electric daily commuting and anxiety-free long-distance travel, thus balancing cost-efficiency with travel flexibility.
The Pro serves as the entry-level trim for the extended-range series, featuring the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.1 (Basic) system. It includes common intelligent driving aids such as a 360° panoramic view, "transparent chassis" (under-vehicle view), and Sentry Mode, alongside seats equipped with ventilation, heating, and massage functions to meet family comfort and basic smart-feature needs. Building on this, the Max+ version upgrades to the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.1 (Advanced) system, which incorporates a 192-line LiDAR sensor. It adds advanced capabilities such as automatic emergency braking (AEB) for irregular obstacles, road-adaptive AEB, and reverse tracking assist, delivering a significantly enhanced intelligent driving experience.
The pure electric series offers four trim levels, categorized by range into "Standard Range" and "Long Range," with Pro and Max+ trims available within each category. All pure electric models come standard with a 124L electric-assisted front trunk (frunk) that opens and closes automatically, expanding storage versatility.
The Standard Range version is powered by a 150 kW rear-mounted single motor paired with a 64.6 kWh battery pack. It delivers a CLTC range of approximately 530 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, making it well-suited for daily urban commuting and short-to-medium-distance trips. The Long-Range version has been upgraded to a high-output 180kW rear-mounted single motor paired with an 80kWh battery pack; this boosts the CLTC range to 655 kilometers and enables 0–100 km/h acceleration in 7.3 seconds, delivering simultaneous improvements in power and range to meet the needs of longer-distance all-electric travel.
In terms of specifications, the Pure Electric Pro and Extended-Range Pro versions share a common baseline, featuring a standard intelligent driving system and a full suite of comfort-oriented seating; meanwhile, the Pure Electric Max+ version mirrors the intelligent driving upgrades found in the Extended-Range Max+ model, incorporating an advanced LiDAR-based intelligent driving system to deliver a superior intelligent driving experience alongside all-electric mobility.
