On September 22, 2025, BYD officially announced that the launch event for the second-generation Qin PLUS will be held on September 25 at 19:00, themed "Tribute to 2.4 Million Qin Owners." The new model will offer both a DM-i hybrid and a pure electric EV version, continuing the affordable pricing strategy starting from 79,800 RMB. This launch is seen as a key move by BYD to solidify its leadership in the A-segment sedan market.
DM-i Hybrid: Equipped with the fifth-generation DM technology, the fuel consumption under NEDC conditions is as low as 2.93L/100km, with a combined range of up to 2055km. Supports 5C super-fast charging (30%-80% in just 10 minutes).
Pure Electric EV: Based on the e-platform 3.0, it offers a CLTC range of 510km and features a wide-temperature heat pump system, reducing range loss in cold weather by 20%.
Except for the entry-level model, all other versions come standard with "DiPilot 100" (C-Advanced Intelligent Driving System), using a 5R12V hardware solution (5 millimeter-wave radars + 12 ultrasonic radars) to enable high-speed navigation, all-scenario automatic parking, and other advanced functions. It becomes the first car in the 90,000 RMB price segment to support automatic on/off-ramp driving.
Exterior: Updated with the Dragon Face 3.0 design language, new Ice Jade Green/Twilight Gray color options, and a reduced drag coefficient of 0.3Cd.
Interior: Features a 12.8-inch rotating central touchscreen, BYD Heart electronic gear shifter, and DiLink 100 system with 5G connectivity and 3D vehicle control.

The second-generation Qin PLUS, through its "same price for hybrid and electric" strategy, directly challenges the market for joint-venture gasoline-powered cars. Its key advantages include:
Value for money: It's the only model in its class to offer advanced intelligent driving features at a price starting from 90,000 RMB.
Energy efficiency: The DM-i version boasts a real-world range exceeding 2,000 kilometers.
Government incentives: The entire lineup benefits from tax exemptions for new energy vehicles, with the base price as low as 56,200 RMB after considering regional subsidies in some areas.
BYD Sales Company General Manager, Liyunfei, stated, "The second-generation Qin PLUS will redefine the standards for intelligence and energy efficiency in the 100,000 RMB segment of family sedans." The new vehicle will begin nationwide deliveries the day after the launch event, and online pre-orders are now open.
