On October 11, 2025, BYD Haiyang.com announced the launch of the 2026 Seal 05 DM-i, offering a single 128km Luxury model with an official suggested retail price of RMB 79,800. As an annual facelift model, the new model features upgraded fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, increased CLTC pure electric range to 128km, and standard 17kW DC fast charging. Orders exceeded 13,000 units on the first day of launch.
The battery capacity has been upgraded from 7.68 kWh to 15.87 kWh, achieving a pure electric range of 128 km (a 133% increase over the previous model).
The new 17 kW DC fast charging function has been added, charging from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, while the 3.5 kW AC slow charging function remains.

The entire model features an electronic hand-shift mechanism, a 60% reduction in physical buttons on the center console, and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel and a 10.1-inch rotating pad.

It also features a plug-in hybrid-specific power-type blade battery and boasts a high-strength, all-around safety body structure. The proportion of galvanized steel plates has been increased to 61.2%.
The new car's 1.5L engine produces 74kW and 126Nm of torque. The front electric motor generates 120kW and 210Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration of 7.6 seconds.
