2. Powertrain and Energy Consumption

The new vehicle is equipped with BYD's latest DM-i Super Hybrid system, consisting of a 1.5L high-efficiency engine and an electric motor:

Engine: 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, maximum power 81kW, thermal efficiency 43%;

Electric Motor: Front-mounted single motor layout, available in two versions with maximum power outputs of 120kW and 160kW respectively;

Range and Energy Consumption: Equipped with BYD Blade Battery, offering pure electric range of 80km and 120km (WLTC cycle), a combined range exceeding 1200km, and a minimum fuel consumption of 4.5L/100km when the battery is depleted.

3. Intelligent Technology Configuration

Intelligent Cockpit: Equipped with a 10.1-inch adaptive rotating floating Pad, featuring the built-in DiLink 4.0 intelligent network system, supporting visible and speak-only functionality and dual-region voice recognition.

Driving Assistance: Featuring the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, including ACC adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.

Convenience Features: Offers practical functions such as wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, and a VTOL mobile power station (supporting 3.3kW external discharge).

4. Competitive Comparison

The Yuan UP DM-i's main competitors include models such as the Haval H6 plug-in hybrid and the Changan CS55 PLUS hybrid. Its advantages lie in BYD's mature DM-i technology reputation and its affordable pricing strategy (expected starting price around 120,000 RMB). According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the vehicle has a curb weight of 1620kg and a top speed of 180km/h, achieving a balance between power and economy in its class.

Summary

The launch of the Yuan UP DM-i further enhances BYD's Yuan series product matrix. Leveraging plug-in hybrid technology, it lowers the barrier to entry for consumers while simultaneously meeting the needs of urban commuting and long-distance travel. It is expected to become a significant force in the compact plug-in hybrid SUV market.
