On June 10, 2025, FAW Toyota will officially launch the medium-sized pure electric coupe SUV bZ5. The new car will be pre-sold at RMB 130,000-160,000. It will use BYD blade batteries and Toyota's intelligent driving system to impact the 150,000-class car market.
Design innovation: adopts "hammerhead shark" front face design, closed grille with C-shaped through-light strip, fastback body with 21-inch wheels, body size of 4780×1866×1510mm, wheelbase of 2880mm, 5 single-color and 3 two-color paint;
Smart cockpit: 15.6-inch floating central control screen + narrow-frame full LCD instrument, equipped with a triple interactive system supporting 200+APPs, equipped with 10-speaker JBL audio, 256-color ambient lights and car fragrance system;
Smart driving system: high-end models are equipped with Momenta5.0 urban assisted driving system, equipped with laser radar and 33 sensing hardware, supporting more than 30 functions, including full-scene NOA pilot assistance.
According to the information reported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the bZ5 is equipped with a single motor (200kW/330N·m) of Fudi Power TZ200XS003, matched with 65.28kWh and 73.984kWh blade batteries, with CLTC ranges of 550km and 630km respectively, and fast charging of 30%-80% takes only 27 minutes. The whole series is equipped with 9 airbags and a five-layer battery protection system (including a non-electric shell + insulating coolant) as standard.
Toyota bZ5 As the first medium-sized pure electric SUV in a joint venture brand to reach the 130,000-level, bZ5 will face competitors such as Leapmotor C10 and BYD Sea Lion 07 EV. Its pre-sale orders have shown consumers' recognition of the combination of "Toyota quality + domestic three-electric".
