On the morning of October 27th, Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of Huawei and Chairman of the Device BG, announced on Weibo that the new STELATO S9, the flagship 9 Series flagship and the grand finale of Hongmeng Intelligent Driving, will launch in November.
The 2026 STELATO S9 largely continues the family's design language, with an elegant and composed overall appearance. Its signature C-shaped headlights and a continuous light strip create a highly recognizable front fascia. With dimensions of 5160mm in length, 2005mm in width, and 1492mm in height, respectively, and a wheelbase of 3050mm, it is a standard large luxury sedan. The new car will be available in a variety of paint finishes, including silver gray, and offers a wealth of customizable options. Customers can choose from a variety of window trim colors, front grille, side skirts, and a sportier Obsidian package. The nebula-shaped taillight cluster and small ducktail design at the rear remain, creating a harmonious and technologically advanced rear visual experience.
In terms of intelligent features, the new STELATO S9 is undoubtedly a masterclass. It will be equipped with Huawei's ADS 3.0 advanced intelligent driving system and a standard 192-line LiDAR, enabling full-scenario intelligent driving capabilities from parking space to parking space. To further enhance perception capabilities, the new car is expected to add a high-precision solid-state LiDAR, which will significantly enhance the vehicle's recognition accuracy and response capabilities in complex road conditions. Regarding safety, its all-directional collision avoidance system CAS 3.0 and enhanced Automatic Emergency Steering (eAES) system together provide a comprehensive active and passive safety system.
In terms of interior, the new car will draw on design elements of the previously well-received S9T, such as the passenger entertainment screen and rear control screens, balancing the technological experience of both driving and riding. The use of high-end interior materials, combined with comfort features such as rear zero-gravity seats and an onboard refrigerator, creates an exceptionally comfortable and convenient travel experience. Furthermore, the addition of power doors further enhances its premium feel as an executive-class vehicle.
The powertrain is another highlight of the new STELATO S9. Consistent with existing strategies, the new car will continue to offer both pure electric and extended-range powertrains to meet the needs of diverse customers. Existing information indicates that the pure electric version of the STELATO S9 has a CLTC range of 816 kilometers. The extended-range version boasts an even more impressive range, expected to exceed 1,000 kilometers, completely eliminating long-distance travel anxiety. The drive motor is provided by Huawei Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd., ensuring the stability and efficiency of the core three-electric technology.
Since its launch, the STELATO S9 has been targeting the traditional luxury sedan market, represented by the BMW 5 Series, AUDI A6L, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class (also known as the "56E"). The STELATO S9 pure electric version has previously maintained its top sales position among pure electric luxury sedans priced over 400,000 yuan for several consecutive months, demonstrating its strong competitiveness in the market. The addition of the new STELATO S9 not only enriches the product portfolio but, through improved battery life and intelligent features, poses a more direct challenge to traditional luxury brands such as BBA.
